§ 52.060. RATES AND COLLECTION.

  • (A) The City Council has the power and authority to fix the rates to be paid by the water consumers for the use of water from the Water Department. All fees shall be on file for public inspection at the office of the City Clerk. The Public Works Division shall bill the consumers and collect all money received by the city on the account of the Water Department. The Division shall faithfully account for, and pay to the City Treasurer all revenue collected by it, taking its receipt therefor in duplicate, filing one with the City Clerk and keeping the other on file in the Water Department's official records.
    (B) The city shall, from time to time, recommend water rates to be charged to the customers of the Public Works Division. The Council shall approve the rates recommended before the city shall put them into effect. Upon approval of these rates by the City Council, the rates shall be placed on file with the City Clerk.
